Rhode Island School of Design

Let's start off with the city itself- Providence, RI. When I had first arrived I was entranced by the beautiful colonial architecture, exactly what I am hoping which ever school I go to has. It being President's Day and the school's break, the city was quite empty, but I was told there were always great things going on and interesting people, especially when it's warmer. Parts of the city are so goddamn hilly. At one corner there was a fence near the sidewalk with a hand rail on it, and holy shit was it definitely needed. Where me and my mom parked the car, there was a small park that overlooked the city. It was exceptionally beautiful.

Looking for the Admissions Office was quite a problem. My mom asked someone on the street, they gave us directions down a street that was one way going the other way. Fail. I got out of the car and asked people on a corner and they sent me to the Admissions Office...of Brown. Fail. We finally got there, with time to spare. The presentation was very informative, and it definitely made me even more anxious to go out and see everything for myself. My student tour guide was a tiny little blonde and blue haired girl from Texas with tiny voice to match, so I tried to stay as close up front as I could. My favourite stop on the tour was the store! It's part campus store and part art supply store! It looks exactly like Utretch (my favourite place in the world since Pearl Paint went out of business). I got to see some studios, other campus areas, and the amazing library! All RISD students get access to 3 libraries, including Brown's. One of the last stops on the tour was a RISD alumnus' studio. He makes the giant puppet creatures and is currently in Vancouver where he does a parade at the Olympics every night. Big Nazo. Btw, I am in love with RISD, even my mamma says I belong there.

I really love college visits. They actually get me excited for the future and really inspire me.

P.S. RISD's hockey team are the Nads, the basketball team are the Balls, and the cheerleaders are the Jock Straps. I like these people already.
