"Forgiveness will set you free," was the central idea to a lesson in AP English yesterday and today. Yesterday I responded with a post to Tumblr (yes, I gave in the the evil lord Tumblr), and today in class I responded to almost crying in the middle of class because I cannot forgive my father.
I called you to drop a line,
But even the answering machine would not speak.
I thought to write you a letter,
But even the pen walked away.
I listened for a song about you,
But even the music locked itself away.
I walked to find you,
But even the sidewalk was flooded with booze.
I assumed you were dead,
But even that peace is gone.
Abandoner.
